When compared to the Standard Chartered Smart Credit Card and HSBC Revolution Card, the DBS SAFRA Card seems to be quite generous with its rewards points.
Every SAFRA$245 can be converted to 10,000 KrisFlyer miles (which means 40 KrisFlyer miles per SAFRA$1), unlike the SCB Smart Credit Card which gives you 1.6 reward Points for every S$1 spent (3,500 points for 1,015 miles, which mean 3.5 miles per SCB reward point), and the HSBC Revolution Card which awards up to 10X rewards points for every S$1 spent online or via contactless payments — both much higher than what the DBS SAFRA card offers.
In terms of interest rates, the DBS SAFRA Card offers a pretty reasonable rate of 27.80% which is lower than the SCB Smart Credit Card’s maximum rate (subject to the bank’s assessment of your credit profile), but higher than HSBC Revolution Card’s fixed rate. As for annual fees, you'll save most with the SCB Smart Card and HSBC Revolution Card as they do not charge any annual fees.
In a nutshell, the DBS SAFRA Card is suitable for you if you can maximise the benefits for this card including the SAFRA member privileges with exclusive benefits at over 1,800 merchants, flexibility to redeem SAFRA$ as cash credits or KrisFlyer miles, plus the other relevant perks.
