The MoneySmart Group (“MoneySmart”) is fully committed to safeguarding the privacy of its customers, online and otherwise, and the success of our business depends on our ability to maintain the trust of our clients and customers.
As an individual who is a user of our website, or otherwise a user of the services provided by MoneySmart, this Privacy Policy is intended to describe:

This Privacy Policy applies to our website, other services we offer as well as all MoneySmart employees and job candidates who apply to any of the MoneySmart Group companies.
MoneySmart Singapore Pte Ltd (“MoneySmart Singapore”), is part of the Group companies (“MoneySmart”), which include Catapult Ventures Pte Ltd, MoneySmart Singapore Pte Ltd, MoneySmart Financial Pte Ltd, MoneySmart Hong Kong Ltd, and MoneySmart HK Financial Ltd.
MoneySmart Singapore provides a source of information and content through our blog, articles, and tools for consumers across various topics on personal finance with objective and independent analyses, making the complex world of personal finance simpler, and empowering them to make smarter financial decisions.
MoneySmart Financial Pte Ltd (“MoneySmart Financial”/“MSF”) (UEN: 201632110Z) wholly owned by Catapult Ventures Pte Ltd., provides an avenue for purchasing insurance policies, receiving financial advice, and accessing the insurance app, Bubblegum, an insurance mobile application. MSF is an Exempt Financial Adviser and Registered Insurance Broker licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”).
This Privacy Policy supplements but does not supersede nor replace any other consents you may have previously provided to us in respect of your Personal Data, and your consents herein are additional to any rights which any of the MoneySmart Group companies may have at law to collect, use or disclose your Personal Data.
This Privacy Policy uses the standard of PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act) for Singapore users, the prevailing privacy law in Singapore. For Hong Kong users, the standard of HK PDPO (Personal Data Privacy Ordinance) is used.

2. Information We Collect About You
2.1 In General
We may collect personal information that can be used to identify you, including, but not limited to, name, residential address, identification and/or passport number, date of birth, email address, employment details, information relating to financial circumstances (collectively “Personal Information”). We also collect traffic patterns relating to users on our website.

MoneySmart does not pull a credit bureau report on loan customers without permission.

We may also collect and store personal information that you provide to us about other people (such as co-borrowers, family members, dependents), including their name, IC/ID/passport number, IC/ID/passport number soft copies, IC/ID/passport hard copies, address, phone number, financial information or other personal information.

We use various technologies to collect information about your activities on our websites. We automatically collect information from your browser when you visit our websites. This information includes your IP address, your browser type and language, access times, the content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from us (see "Cookies" below), and the referring website address.

3.1 Financial information
We may use financial information, that you provide to us directly or is provided to us via third parties, to match you with lenders or to provide lenders' conditional loan offers to you, to verify your identity, to protect against or identify possible fraudulent transactions, or otherwise as needed to manage our business.
We collect and forward your credit card and other payment information, provided to you by us, for completing the sale of certain products on our website, including, but not limited to general insurance products such as car insurance, home insurance, travel insurance, maid insurance, and personal accident insurance.

MoneySmart (including its employees, directors, and/or representatives) is required by law to keep Personal Information strictly private and confidential, save and except as set out in this Privacy Policy, we will not disclose any Personal Information without having obtained your prior consent to do so unless otherwise required by law.
Generally, when MoneySmart requests for Personal Information in the course of providing you a service and/or product and where you provide us with such Personal Information, there is implied consent that you agree to provide us with your Personal Information in order for us to provide you with the requested service and/or product.

Personal Information will be held for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable law. MoneySmart shall cease to retain Personal Information or remove the means by which Personal Information can be associated with particular clients, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that the purpose for which that Personal Information was collected is no longer valid and retention is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.

Please note that, in certain exceptional cases, MoneySmart is entitled to charge a reasonable administrative fee for this service which you will be advised of prior to us acting upon the request.
9. How We Protect Your Personal Information
At MoneySmart, your personal data and the information that you share with us in confidence are treated with the utmost respect and care. Thus, the safety of your personal data is important to us and it is our policy to respect the confidentiality of the information and the privacy of every individual.
This Policy outlines how MoneySmart manages the personal data we hold in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act in Singapore and applies to everything we do with regards to that information.
MoneySmart has in place various security procedures, technical and organisational measures to safeguard your Personal Information. To protect against external attacks, we have in place robust firewalls and security measures to detect, isolate and prevent hacking and other malware intrusions to our IT systems.
Further MoneySmart employees also undergo periodic security awareness programmes to create awareness in information security so that employees are able to identify and respond appropriately to security risks.
We use all reasonable efforts to safeguard your Personal Information. However, you should be aware that the use of the Internet is not entirely secure and for this reason, we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any Personal Information which is transferred from you or to you via the Internet. You should also be mindful that you are responsible for keeping your access rights confidential and secure at all times.
MoneySmart Group companies, do not hold responsibility for any data leaks or situations where your personal information and data might be compromised, through systems of our third-party service providers and other partners being compromised.
10. Job Applicants and Employees
10.1 Job Applicants
If you apply for a job with MoneySmart or any of the MoneySmart Group companies, we will collect from you only the personal data you include in the curriculum vitae (CV) that you choose to send to us and, if we interview you, any personal data that you choose to provide to us during that interview. We will use such personal data only for the purpose of deciding whether or not to hire you.
We will rely on you being deemed to have consented to us collecting and using the personal data described above for such purpose. If your job application is unsuccessful, we will retain such personal data on a ‘keep in view’ basis, unless you explicitly revoke consent to do so.
10.2 Employees
If you accept an offer of employment with us, we will ask you to provide us with personal data in addition to the personal data referred to in section 10.1 to the extent that we need it for the purpose of managing and terminating the employment relationship between you and us.
We might also store other personal information, with regards to facilitating transactions, including, but not limited to, financial information such as bank account numbers, family members’ details, and dependents’ details.
